I actually did not learn a whole lot from Dr. Atkins. I learned that all carbohydrates are broken down into sugar so you might think that eating some toast made from white bread is better than eating some marshmallows but since it is broken down to sugar in the body it is pretty much the same. So when I went on the Atkins diet I was able to lose weight and I never felt hungry because you could eat all you wanted of certain foods. I did soon though get tired of having the same ole stuff and quickly realized that maybe this was a way to lose a few pounds but not a healthy way to lose a great deal of weight and certainly not a way that you would want to eat the rest of your life.
