Exercise,
I can hear the groans from here. In fact I am groaning with you. It is
important to have exercise as part of your regular routine. Once you
have gotten over the initial hurdles and start to feel the benefits of
consistent exercise (or so I’ve heard) you will not want to go back, in
fact you may even miss it on days where you can’t. The
two most convenient ways to exercise is walking, or an at home workout.
If you can find a walking companion this could help the time go by
quickly as well as keep you motivated to go. At home you could by a
piece of exercise equipment or an exercise video. I recommend a video
as it is usually less expensive and does not take up allot of room in
your house. I have recently purchased Turbo Jam and I like that it
starts low impact and you can work up to more challenging workouts.
There are many successful exercises videos, the main objective is to
get up and move. A
club membership can be a great way to exercise. It can be a bit more
difficult to work into your schedule and it also can be expensive,
however you can many times get professional help on what kind of
workout is best to meet your goals. Sometimes you can also find aerobic
classes at a community center for a nominal cost that can be fun. This
is one of those areas where goal setting and self talk are imperative.
There are so many really good and valid reasons why exercising will not
work. You don't have time, it cost to much, you don't have the proper
shoes or equipment or you just don't like it. You can learn to eat
better you can even lose weight, but there are physical and emotional
benefits that come from exercising that you cannot get any other way. |
