Exercise is important for everyone. While there are many forms to do, many enjoy jogging. However, there are some things to remember when starting a jogging program.
If you have not exercised in awhile, jogging may not be the thing to do. It may be a good idea to visit the doctor and get his input. Factors that need to be taken into account are your health, weight, and age, along with the fact that you have not exercised in some time or ever. Regardless, you should start slowly.
First, make sure you have the right clothing and shoes for your jog. Start with a warm-up to get your muscles ready for this different endeavor. Then, start with a walk. Depending on your health, either just keep walking the entire time or alternate it with short periods of jogging. If your body is not rebelling, keep doing that. Each time out, increase jogging time and decrease walking. You can do that until you are jogging the entire time, but listen to your body while you are doing this.
It is more fun and safer to have a buddy or pet to exercise with. If not, make sure you jog in a safe area. Take your water bottle, cell phone, and something to alert people around if you are in trouble. Listen to your music, but make sure you know what is going on around you. Make sure you exercise or jog regularly, so your body gets used to it. After you are done, slow down gradually. This is easier on your body. While your muscles are warm, stretch them. If you do this, your body will be less sore next time, so exercise will be easier, and you will be more apt to do it.
