Women's Health and Fitness

Women are great at multitasking and getting things done. In the process of their busy schedules they occasionally neglect their health. It is sometimes difficult to add the extra time to go to a gym. You can turn an area of your home into a small fitness center. Pilate bands are great for strengthening muscles as well as the exercise ball. Hand held weights are also a great fitness tool. These three items can easily be stored at home and if used properly can turn your body into a fit machine.

There are simple tasks during the day that can add fitness to your body. If you work where there are stairs, take them instead of the elevator. Walk on part of your lunch break. A person should get in 10,000 steps a day. This is not an easy task if you are sitting around all day. Walk whenever possible. If you’re watching a program on TV, get up and jog in place during the commercials or do jumping jacks. Remember doing something is better than doing nothing. Walking everyday keeps the body fit. Start out with 20 minutes and increase it five minutes every week until you are at one hour.

If you enjoy riding your bike, do it everyday for ½ hour or more. If you incorporate these simple exercises into your lifestyle, in a short period of time, you will feel better and will become more fit. A balanced diet is also important to female fitness. Vegetables and fruits are loaded with nutrition, so add them to your daily food intake
